Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a statement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
