Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.
It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
